I remember two years ago, the food here is not good. But now it's different! The ramen is soooo good! Maybe Kippo Ramen is the best in Baltimore. But Bamboo is the best near Hopkins.
The owner is really nice. If you are lucky enough, sometimes he would give free beverage on Friday.
I prefer this place than Pekopeko, since the beef with the ramen here is way much better than the pork in Peko.
Definitely the best cafe near Hopkins. -

Our go to place for lunch. Great curry, great ramen. The boss is really a nice guy, me and my wife both like him so much.

I've been coming here consistently over a year now, and I love it here. Not only that the food is great (very fresh fish, vegetables, meat/fish over rice, kimchi beef stew, very fresh curry-creamed noodles, torch-grilled meats, udon) and also mochi deserts that I very much recommend, but the most memorable thing that brings me back here is getting close with the staff members here and the owner Joseph.

For those of us who have been around the JHU Homewood Campus/Charles Village area for awhile, the Bamboo Cafe is located where the Silk Road cafe used to be.
What a huge step down Bamboo Cafe is compared to the Silk Road Cafe
Expensive, bad tasting food... students come here because it takes the student meal plan dollars
The Sushi - for the basics like Cali Roll, no avocado inside the roll and they still want to charge the roll for $6.99? hard pass
The "curry" rice - instant variety, with nasty chicken strips that come straight out of the freezer, $6.99? hard pass
Only edible thing that is priced more reasonably is the "Bahn Mi sandwich", a pork or chicken sub with cilantro... etc. Douse it with Sriracha Sauce then you should be good $5.99
Ramen Soup with plain hot sauce broth and some green onion for $6.99? Had it once... shame on me
Just say no. You can do it -

Nothing special, pretty high prices for small portions, each time you order the sauces and vegetables are different.
